Flora School Days

Details: Days of old come once again to the Flora School. Old time music rounds out the day. School Days involves as many old-time skills as can be gleaned from volunteers. Annual favorites include blacksmithing, soap-making, silversmithing. Musicians play old-time music throughout the day. Old favorites of the Dutch oven lunch, the country store and the pie social continue to be part of the ever expanding activities. Along with the Dutch ovens heating up to bring lunch to the visitors, the wood cookstove workers will be baking the cornbread for the lunch in their oven and cranking out butter for the breads too.

Heidi Muller and Bob Webb are excited to be offering a dulcimer camp in one of our favorite places – Wallowa Lake in northeastern Oregon! Players of all levels are welcome. Camp will begin Sunday evening with a large “warm-up” class for all students. Then every morning Monday-Friday, we’ll have two class periods with rotating instructors, except for Beginners who will have Bob Webb for the entire morning. Come join us to be inspired by the breathtaking scenery, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and learn the Appalachian dulcimer in a relaxed and supportive environment!

Lostine River Run

You can choose to run either a 5K or 10K that is mostly downhill as it follows the Lostine River into the small town of Lostine, or a flat 1 mile out-and-back. The main sponsor of the Lostine River Run is the Rotary Club of Wallowa County. Rotary proceeds benefit the Memorial Scholarship Funds.

Hells Canyon Relay

Details: The Smith Rock Race Group LLC will have their 2nd Hells Canyon Realay. The longest traditional running relay in America. The relay starts at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, just outside Baker City, Oregon; the route then heads east on Oregon State Hwy. 86 around the south side of the Wallowa Mountains, then turns north on Forest Service Road 39 (Wallowa Mountain Loop Road) heading towards beautiful Joseph Oregon, ending in La Grande Oregon. This elite course is a total of 285 miles. There are also the walking and high school challenge races.

Enterprise Winterfest Parade & Santa

Details: Come and enjoy the beginning of the Christmas season in Enterprise. A Christmas market will be held in the Enterpriser building on Friday and Saturday, 11:00am-7:00pm. There will be special discounts at participating stores. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be wandering Main Street. On Friday there will be Candle Light Caroling at Warde Park at 5:30pm. The Holiday Lights Parade will be Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. The Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department will be serving chili starting 4:30 pm on Saturday. Other Events include a fudge contest; all fudge entries will be auctioned off after the parade and the proceeds will be used for new Christmas Decorations for downtown Enterprise.
